I love your gestural marks, and also the use of spot blacks.
What inspiration did you have for this piece?

thanks a lot for the kind words everybody.

David: Yes ...that was awfully long absence. Thanks for reminding me.

TJ: Pls do post more...you've got a great style with the colors.

Shamil: Thanks buddy.BTW I the 'mahabharatham' trailer...cool stuff done neatly...how many did you say your team is? Im closely watching your blog.I will be commenting in detail once I get some time off...very inspiring.

Jason:A great question.I've never been a fan of conan...or none of those 'beefed up' guys'.Im more of a storyman...but somehow the spacepunk genre had always influenced me...flash gordon and ofcourse john carter....
there's nothing'super' about these guys ( batman too) which makes them so vulnerable and 'real'.
It was quite recently that i came to know of JC of Mars although I had seen a lot of those great artworks from Frazetta.
You know what these paintings make me feel? its not just the awesome artworks but they make you think 'Holy...what happened next?' cause there's always this demonoid/monster/alien who is supersized and powerful waiting to pounce upon this cool guy and the 'damsel in distress'....
again...very vulnerable.

i hate to show monsters in their full spree at times....
you may just need to show a bit of it and leave the rest to the imagination of the viewers...

and one more thing...i tried to match the portrait of frazetta with john carter ...sad nobody noticed..

great question ..well asked...i hope this answers your question...

have a great time mate.

Abhilash: Look who is here...son of a gun.thanks chakkare.

Karthik: Thanks buddy.yes the princess is Dejah vu ..:)

Ratheesh: and look 'who's ' here AS WELL!!

Dilanka: Thanks for the kind words.Your blog sure kicks some cool ass man...and I felt pissed off cause the industry should have already taken you..yes!! I mean it!!
